About the Training

Incidents involving animals trapped in flood and swiftwater environments require specialized knowledge and considerations. This comprehensive training combines hands-on field instruction with classroom learning.

This course covers:

  • ASAR Swiftwater Rescue Skills

  • ASAR Floodwater Boat Operations

First responders with existing water rescue certification will receive additional certification meeting required FEMA USAR/TF animal rescue competencies.

The primary focus is on small animal rescue techniques, with additional discussion on large animal issues and floodwater-related hazards.

Note: Participants must be able to swim in moving water conditions.

Required PPE

  • Drysuit (Optional)

  • Water Rescue Helmet

  • Class V PFD with quick release strap

  • Water Gloves

  • Appropriate Footwear


Registration & Fees

Class Registration Fee: $650.00
Drysuit Rental (Optional): $200.00

Payment is due at the time of registration.

Refund Policy:

  • 10+ days prior to class: 100% refund

  • 5–10 days prior to class: 50% refund

  • 0–5 days prior to class: No refund
