The SPCA Suncoast is seeking a Shelter Manager to join our team in Pasco County, Florida. Our ideal candidate will be a highly motivated, outgoing, polite and professional team player, able to multi-task in a fast paced environment. Compassion for animals and knowledge of proper care, handling and basic emergency treatments for dogs and cats is essential. The Shelter Manager is responsible for the oversight of daily operations including animal care and record keeping, transport, client service and community outreach and will work with our supportive Board of Directors to effectively manage an annual budget of more than $200,000. This position will supervise a staff of 5 to 10 employees and work cooperatively with dozens of community volunteers.
Salary is competitive and will be commensurate with experience. Minimum requirements are an AA or BA, a valid driver’s license with a clean record, demonstrated experience in animal care and at least two years in management (preferably at an animal shelter or related non-profit organization).
