The Legislative Committee supports the FAAWO board of directors by providing information, education and updates on animal welfare legislation being considered by the Florida Legislature. FAAWO Legislative Committee members participate in regularly scheduled calls prior to and throughout the legislative session, present updates to the board, and make recommendations about FAAWO’s official positions on legislation. Committee members participate in legislative advocacy efforts at the state Capitol in Tallahassee.
The FAAWO membership committee supports the FAAWO board of directors by organizing and implementing effective programs to recruit new members and retain current members. The committee maintains the current membership database and provides monthly reports to the board. These reports include current, lapsed and pending members. In addition, the membership committee attends quarterly on-site meetings where they present the current membership status and upcoming recruitment efforts.
